What does it mean to have true joy in Jesus? In this message, Pastor Reese Webb continues our Summer Letters series through Philippians 3:1–11 and explains why our salvation, confidence, and joy must be found in Jesus Christ alone. Paul had an impressive religious background. He had the right lineage, followed the law, lived as a Pharisee, and possessed accomplishments that others greatly respected. But after encountering Jesus, Paul counted everything else as loss compared with the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. This sermon challenges us to examine where we place our confidence. Is it in our accomplishments, reputation, religious effort, possessions, or ability to be a good person? Or is our confidence resting completely in the finished work of Jesus? Pastor Reese also explains the difference between justification, sanctification, and glorification, reminding us that believers are saved by faith, transformed by the power of Christ, and promised eternal life with Him. If you have ever felt like you are not good enough, have gone too far, or need to earn God’s approval, this message is a reminder that Christ is sufficient.
